Pitlochry in the heart of Highland Perthshire is a brilliant place to come for a holiday. Surrounded by mountains, lochs and forests, the great outdoors beckons. As well as activities like white water rafting (yes, they do a disabled version) there is fishing, golfing & lots of amazing walks (We can recommend wheelchair/buggy friendly ones). And of course there’s the wildlife e.g. the ospreys at Loch of the Lowes Centre or Highland Safaris where you can feed the deer and go on a landrover safari. This area is full of artists’ galleries & workshops and for foodies there are lots of great cafes and restaurants in Pitlochry itself and 2 distilleries who do tours. For music & drama, both the Birnam Institute and Pitlochry Festival Theatre have full programmes.
The Atholl Centre is just off the main street in Pitlochry, and easy to get to by bus, train or car. We’re a holiday & conference Centre and open for B&B at Easter and from July to October – and we do group holidays throughout the year, both catered and self-catering. Special diets no problem. We’ve just refurbished our ground floor bedrooms, so they’re all disabled en-suite now, finished to a high standard and ideal for folks who are less mobile but still want to enjoy a holiday in a beautiful place.
We also have a brand new disabled friendly self-catering chalet on our ground floor. It has ramped entry, 3 disabled en-suite bedrooms, a lounge and even a disabled kitchen with rise & fall worktops & mid-level appliances.
We run The Atholl Centre as a social enterprise. Our ethos is to promote inclusion and equal opportunity of access for all regardless of background or situation. Contact Iain on 01796 473044 to come and have a fantastic holiday here.
