Gemma Flanagan, 32, will make her catwalk debut at The Ideal Home Show at Olympia, London tomorrow as part of Models of Diversity’s fashion shows named ‘The Beauty Within’.
Gemma was diagnosed with Guillain Barre Syndrome in 2011, a condition that affects the nervous system and left Gemma paralysed. Following a long period of recovery which saw Gemma re-learning how to speak, write and walk, she had to accept that she needed to use crutches and relies increasingly on her wheelchair.
Her work with Models of Diversity sees her campaigning to change the face of the media to include people of all age, size, race and ability in mainstream advertising and marketing activity.
