Archery GB’s ambition is to grow archery as a sport for disabled people from all impairment groups, whatever their involvement in the sport. We will provide a platform for community based archery opportunities for disabled people to initially engage in the sport at the relevant level as well as providing opportunities and pathways to enable individuals to progress.
This funding will encourage and support the development of new projects that particularly target increasing the number of disabled children & young people participating in archery and enhancing the archery experience for current disabled participants.
Development Manager for Young People, Chris Turner said: ” With the benefit of funding from Sport England and Fletchers, Archery GB has for the first time, the resources to initiate purposeful development in grassroots disability archery. Through our new Disability Plan we will demonstrate a ‘growth in participation’ by disabled people and ensure that more disabled people have the opportunity to participate in archery.
“Fletcher’s donations and continued generosity are truly appreciated by all at Archery GB, and it’s a pleasure to have Fletchers supporting us.”
