Homeleigh Country Cottages is a collection of six spacious cottages on a smallholding situated in the village of Red Roses which is on the main A477 road to Tenby along the West Wales coast. We offer a warm welcome to guests who need a little extra help to make their holiday carefree and perfect. We are a friendly complex with careful planning for ease of access. Being specifically designed around the accessibility needs of the wheelchair user and comfort of the carer they offer that little extra luxury which visitors with special requirements appreciate.
The cottages are very spacious, home from home and comfortable. They all have central heating, freeview tv, fitted kitchens including microwave and fridge. Bed linen and utilities are included but not towels. We have a visitors’ laundry that is open daily. Each cottage has at least one profile bed in either single or twin downstairs bedrooms which are very spacious with plenty of turning space for hoists and wheelchairs.
The cottages wake up to the early morning sunshine and facing south/west the late evening sky is alight with spectacular sunsets. On a clear night you can see the whole of the milky way which makes for fantastic photos for the visitors’ album. On a moon lit night the property is never fully dark and the horses grazing in the field make for a calming atmosphere.
The cottages sleep from two to seven guests which gives a wide variety of accommodation on one level, and the larger properties also have upstairs bedrooms along with a second shower room. All downstairs rooms are fully accessible with plenty of wheelchair turning space and have wet rooms which have several grab rails. A selection of wheel-in shower chairs are offered to suit visitors’ needs.
All downstairs rooms are fully accessible through extra wide doors that can accommodate larger wheelchairs and equipment. The cottages have level access throughout on the ground floor. There are stairs giving access to the upstairs accommodation for the more able bodied members of the group. Outside is an accessible picnic and seating area for guests to enjoy the Welsh air and sometimes the salty atmosphere drifting over the hill top from the beach.
Equipment available includes shower chairs, commodes, walking frames and much more. For a small charge we offer hoists, air mattress, turning platform and large padded cot sides for the profile beds. Please enquire on booking.
Situated a few minutes drive from the West Wales Coast we are at the beginning of a wealth of spectacular places in which to relax. There are now numerous beaches which have wheelchair access. Not forgetting the many attractions and eating establishments on offer which include Folly Farm, Teifi Valley Railway, Heatherton, Manor Park Wildlife Zoo, National Botanic Garden of Wales, Aberglasney (A Garden Lost in Time), St David’s Cathedral – which serves really good food in the restaurant open daily.
