Supported living service Eden Futures has welcomed new residents to two independent living schemes following successful partnership working.
Vale Place, Worcestershire, and Vincent Apartments, Rotherham, are both providing an innovative housing solution, alongside support and care, to local individuals in need.
Following consultation and on-going partnership work with local authorities, Eden Futures has been successful in implementing a new service model into local communities, transforming the way in which care is provided.
As a result of working closely with Bromford and Worcestershire County Council, the 14 self-contained apartments in Vale Place will provide support to adults in the community with learning disabilities, with eleven individuals already settled into their new home.
In partnership with social landlords BeST and Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, Eden Futures has welcomed the first two tenants to Vincent Apartments, offering 12 apartments that will accommodate 24-hour care and support to promote independent living.
By working with local housing associations, both schemes enable individuals to take ownership of their own tenancy agreement, as well as benefiting from the 24/7 support from staff at Eden Futures.
This approach, based on collaboration and consultation, establishes level of demand in specific locations as well as the types of properties needed.
David Whittock, head of development for Eden Futures, commented: “These new build schemes are examples of how our collaboration with key stakeholders is providing housing and support solutions to the local community.
“We pride ourselves on being innovative and going the extra mile to enable individuals to have their own front door, with the tailored support needs around them.”
Eden Futures has a high success rate in filling voids throughout their supported living services, currently standing at over 90% occupancy. This success has been through the approach to partnership work with key stakeholders, resulting in a positive transition for all individuals.
CEO at Eden Futures, Andrew Lennox, commented: “In the past 12 months Eden Futures has opened ten new schemes – of which Vincent Apartments and Vale Place are the most recent. Working as a partner with commissioners and housing providers gives the best outcomes to those we support, as the environment they live in has such an impact on their wellbeing. We are proud of these new properties and excited by the opportunities to grow further.”
