Access All Rooms is a hotel booking website set up to revolutionise the travel industry, designed specifically for those with accessibility requirements. This year James Price, founder of Access All Rooms, is entering the Voom competition, a competition set up by Virgin Media which gives participants the chance to pitch to Richard Branson and win a share of a £1million as well as some fantastic business opportunities.
James, a Paralympic torchbearer who became two-thirds paralysed after a diving accident in 1999, noticed a gap in the travel market for those with a disability. Hotels often won’t supply the information that disabled travellers need to be able to decide whether the hotel’s accommodation is suitable or not. James spent many hours on the phone to hotels looking for this information, becoming frustrated with what little use was provided by the front desk.
This sparked the idea of Access All Rooms, a hotel booking website that is designed specifically for those with accessibility issues. It lists the information that’s needed for disabled customers to be able to make a decision on booking their room. However, due to his disability, James is unable to hold a full time job and the funds that he needs to really let the website excel aren’t available to him.
James, comments; “Winning the Voom competition would provide us with the sufficient funds to be able to build Access All Room’s awareness, add to the list of hotels we feature and ensure that people with disabilities are supplied with information they need to book a well deserved hotel.”
