community-partners-3-5The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) are launching an exciting opportunity to shape the support for disabled people and those with health conditions. The new Community Partner roles will build on expertise within Jobcentre Plus and strengthen understanding to ensure support is tailored to customer requirements in partnership with the third sector.

About the roles

The Lead Community Partner will oversee the development of local third sector services to enhance the range of support available, and work with local employers to inform them of advice and good practice in employing disabled people.

You will shape services to meet the needs and aspirations of disabled people and those with health conditions, support the development of a national mentoring network and build relationships with specialist organisations in your area.

The Lead Community Partner will lead a team of Community Partners to work collaboratively with the third sector in strengthening disability awareness within Jobcentre Plus across a range of specialisms tailored to local needs.

Roles are available across Scotland, England and Wales.

About you

You will have a lived experience or expert knowledge of disability, and will bring this to enhance disability understanding in partnership with third sector organisations.

You may be interested in a fixed-term appointment opportunity or a secondment from your current organisation. Both fixed-term appointments and secondments are available for 12 months with a possible extension for a further 11 months. Organisations are also invited to offer secondment opportunities to their staff.
