A computer-based game has been tested on a small number of patients already. Schizophrenic patients completed the brain-training exercises over a four-week period and found noticeable improvements in memory and learning.
Schizophrenia is a mental health condition that can cause the patient to experience a variety of different psychological symptoms, from hallucinations to cognition problems. The condition can affect the patient’s ability to live independently.
Designed by Cambridge researchers, the game has a range of levels with varying difficulties. The aim of the exercise is to help people living with schizophrenia back into studying or work after their diagnosis.
