Stewart’s apprenticeship with BBC Scotland has seen him get hands-on experience in radio.
‘Since starting my apprenticeship, my attitude to how my disability is portrayed has changed,’ he says.
Stewart is profoundly and severely deaf, and his employer made a few simple adjustments to make sure he could do the job. This included using email and instant messaging instead of the phone.
He’s also run BSL classes for some of his colleagues, helping them to learn some sign language.
