Car UK is pleased to announce that its all-new XC90 T8 Twin Engine luxury SUV is now available for order from all Volvo Business Centres. The top-of-the-range variant of the vehicle manufacturer’s flagship luxury model offers company car users first class travel, one of the most comprehensive and technologically sophisticated standard safety packages on the market, low emissions and exceptional fuel economy.
The XC90 T8 Twin Engine is powered by a two-litre, four-cylinder supercharged and turbocharged petrol Drive-E powerplant with an electric motor. The result is a total output of 407hp*, a combined fuel economy of up to 134.5mpg, with CO2 emissions of only 49 g/km (NEDC driving cycle), the lowest ever for a seven-seat SUV. With a pure electric range of up to 26 miles, buyers will receive the Government’s Plug-In Car Grant (PICG) of £5,000 towards the purchase price of the vehicle which stands at £63,650.
Furthermore, following the changes which came into force on 01 April 2015, the XC90 T8 Twin Engine is one of the few cars in its segment to fall below the reduced 75 g/km capital allowance threshold. It is therefore eligible for a 100% first year allowance, meaning a company can offset the entire cost of purchase against its profits in the year of purchase, and therefore enjoy a significant tax advantage. Alternatively, for employees, or directors, opting for this vehicle on a company car scheme, the car is subject to a 5% BiK banding, which equates to a monthly income tax liability of only £53.04 (£636.48 p.a.) for a 20% taxpayer, and £106.08 (£1,272.96 p.a.) for those paying income tax at the higher rate of 40%.
The latest XC90 features a full-leather and spacious interior for a superior level of front and rear comfort. This is coupled with the added benefits of four-zone climate control and Volvo’s state-of-the-art Interior Air Quality System (IAQS) which keeps out a number of harmful and irritating pollutants. At the heart of the cabin is the intuitive tablet- like Sensus touchscreen, facilitating business on the move. The customisable display includes a range of cloud-based systems such as satellite navigation with live traffic updates, the world’s first ‘Park and Pay’ application, and the ability to pair a smartphone for hands-free calls. All can be managed by voice control in a natural way.
As with every Volvo model, the XC90 delivers excellent all-round occupant protection. The car incorporates unique safety innovations such as a run-off road protection package and auto brake at intersection capability for the prevention of injury in the event of a departure from the road and if faced with an oncoming car. Users equally benefit from other aids for an enhanced level of security, namely Adaptive Cruise Control with Pilot Assist for automatic creeping in slow-moving traffic, a 360° Surround view for manoeuvring in tight spaces, as well as a digital head up display which is projected on the lower part of the windscreen to indicate current speed and legal limits.
Selwyn Cooper, Head of Business Sales, says: “Employee wellbeing, affordability and a low carbon footprint are key priorities for businesses when procuring vehicles, which makes the XC90 T8 Twin Engine a highly compelling proposition for corporate customers. Combined with premium styling, luxurious surroundings and technological innovation, this model offers a high value and competitive package which is ideal for a range of company car users, spanning executives to chauffeur drivers. This model is already proving popular, and initial sales forecasts are set to be exceeded.”
