Aylesbury Waterside Theatre can be found in the heart of Aylesbury and boasts the best in entertainment from spine-tingling drama to dynamic dance, must-see musicals and fun-filled family shows, with accessible arts for all being key to the venue’s ethos.

More than just a theatre, the 1200 seat auditorium is one of two multi-functional performance spaces, both easily accessible with the theatre’s step-free ground floor level from the entrance to the Box Office, the Waterside Café and the Stalls, with a lift to Circle 1, Circle 2 and the Second Space levels. Hearing dogs and guide dogs are welcome and wheelchair spaces are available for all productions.

The venue regularly hosts access performances including audio-described, captioned, signed and relaxed performances alongside touch tours and most recently, dementia-friendly screenings. Spring sees a signed performance of Britain’s national dance company Rambert’s triple bill on Fri 16 March, including popular masterpiece Ghost Dances, percussion-fuelled party-piece A Linha Curva and inspired by the music of Nina Simone, Goat. Gripping thriller Strangers on a Train has a captioned performance available for the Saturday matinee on 24 March and David Walliams’ family production Awful Auntie includes a relaxed performance on Fri 20 July. Accessible performances and a touch tour are also available for their festive pantomime, Peter Pan.

Dementia – friendly screenings seek to provide a fun and inclusive experience enabling people living with dementia, their families and carers to attend in a safe and welcoming environment. Lights are left on low, there are no adverts or trailers and tickets are just £6 per person with one free carer included. Complimentary tea & coffee is served pre-show and during the interval of the screenings, with the next to confirmed titles being 42nd Street on Sun 18 Mar and Meet Me in St Louis on Sun 13 May.

With disabled parking available in all car parks in the immediate area and the railway station just a 5 minute walk away linking Aylesbury to London Marylebone, the venue is ideally located for you to enjoy a hassle-free visit.
