Össur UK hosts highly successful ‘Bionics in Rehabilitation’ seminar in Manchester, bringing together Össur clinical and technical experts with leading healthcare professionals from the UK at the Manchester Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI).
The morning involved presentations from POWER KNEE™ Specialist David Langlois who discussed Bionics Past & Present and illustrated future concepts of fully integrated prostheses. Össur Medical Office Director, Axel Schulz, detailed The Burden of Comorbidities and the benefits of Bionics in rehabilitation. Physiotherapist Peter Slijkhuis presented examples of rehabilitation methods needed to maximise the benefits of Bionic prostheses with interactive sessions from prosthesis users. The afternoon saw demonstrations around MOSI, with Össur specialists and models discussing the features and benefits of RHEO KNEE®, PROPRIO FOOT®, POWER KNEE™ and SYMBIONIC® LEG.
The day closed with a number of case studies, including an insightful overview from RHEO KNEE® user Mark O’Leary on his trek up Kilimanjaro.
