HERE’s a dad who went the extra mile to give his son an extra-special Halloween.
The doting father created a costume that allowed his wheelchair-bound lad to trick or treat despite his illness. Little Carter has spina bifida, which leaves him unable to walk. But in an ice cream van built by his dad, the youngster was able to join in the fun.
The van came complete with a back window filled with ice cream cones. On the side, Buster’s Ice Cream was painted on and Carter was dressed in a white uniform and hat.
A photo of the lad has swept the internet, with one user writing: “Best dad ever. I shed a tear for this one.
“Not only will be going trick-or-treating, but his costume is way cooler than what other kids will have.”
The touching costume has inspired a wave of pictures online of other wheelchair-friendly costumes — including an R2D2 outfit, a Batmobile and a Darth Vader costume.
