The Annual Indoor Disability Sports festival was this year held at One Leisure St Neots on Sunday 14th October 2012. The event organised by Huntingdonshire Disability Sports Forum attracted over 50 participants across 14 different sports on a fun packed day which finished with some races for all to take part in.

Huntingdonshire Disability Sports Forum would like to thank, St. Ives Rangers Disability Football club, Howzat Cricket Club, Hemingford Squash Academy, our fabulous Zumba and Archery Instructors, Move to Health, and all the other volunteers that gave their support on the day. The time and effort given from these clubs and individuals is the foundation of these events providing opportunities for people with disabilities to experience new and exciting sports and activities, without their support these events simply wouldn’t happen.

Billie Smith, Chairman for the Huntingdonshire Disability Sports Forum, said “I can’t thank all the volunteers and sports clubs enough it is so pleasing to see so many people and families enjoying themselves at these events. I hope that the time given by the various clubs will see an increase in membership for them and continue to develop disability sport throughout the District”

Feedback from participants was excellent with everyone enjoying the wide range of sports on offer, one carer said “Lucy, once again has had a fantastic day! Many thanks to all.”

Huntingdonshire Disability Sports Forum is a voluntary group made up of a wide range of individuals with the aim of promoting and developing disability sport throughout the local area.
