Victim Support is looking for an Initial Response Officer to work 30 hours per week Monday to Friday between the hours of 12.00-18.00. The post will be home-based on a fixed term contract until 31/3/2021 and the successful candidate will need to live in the Devon and Cornwall area to accommodate occasional travel to the office in Bodmin.

Victim Support (VS) is an independent charity for people affected by crime in England and Wales. We work towards a world where people affected by crime or traumatic events get the support they need and respect they deserve.

The main duties of this role include providing a supportive and professional first point of contact for clients and partner organisations.

To be successful in the role you will have strong support and communication skills (both verbal and written) and the personal resilience required to interact with distressed individuals. Alongside this you will possess a high level of computer literacy and data inputting speed and demonstrable planning and organizational skills.

You will also need to have access to a space at home where you can work confidentially, away from others.
