ABOUT US

Owned and run by Spinal Injuries Scotland, Clober Farm is a three-bedroomed apartment in Milngavie, seven miles from Glasgow city centre. This Grade C-listed property was bequeathed to Spinal Injuries Scotland and forms part of a 280-year-old farmhouse which includes an extensive garden.  The apartment has been renovated to a very high standard, with wheelchair users in mind, to provide fully accessible living accommodation. It also has an accessible garden complete with a patio area and raised beds.

From concept to reality, the property has been conceived to be truly accessible, whilst still being a modern and comfortable family home.

Clober Farm is situated in Milngavie (pronounced Millguy) which is seven miles away from Glasgow city centre. Milngavie has its own small pedestrianised shopping centre which includes familiar names such as M&S and Boots, as well as some individual boutiques and cafes. It also has a large Dobbies Garden Centre which is wheelchair friendly and is ideal for a meal or coffee stop.

Mugdock Country Park is close at hand and has a fully accessible visitor area, disabled parking, wheelchair accessible paths through the woodlands, an accessible orienteering course and mobility equipment available to borrow.

Despite its proximity to the city, Clober Farm feels like a world away in its quiet location, close to the lovely countryside of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, and the world renowned West Highland Way.

The house is well equipped for anyone with a spinal injury. After discharge from hospital back home to Orkney, we have since returned to stay at Clober Farm for hospital appointments, concerts and a weekend break. It’s the comfort of knowing everything you need is provided which can be an anxious time for anyone with a spinal injury. We would definitely recommend the house and we look forward to our return visit later this year
