Unite with Paralympians and TV stars for Superhero Tri’s Celebrity Challenge!

As Superhero Tri returns for its third year, don’t miss your chance to team up with superstars from sport and screen at the UK’s one and only mass-participation disability sport series.

Once again participants – AKA ‘Everyday Superheroes’ – will be turning out in their thousands, capes flying, for the unique tri challenges at Dorney Lake on 17 August, which throw out cut-off times and equipment restrictions to give budding Superheroes with all types of disabilities the chance release their inner superpower and achieve an inspirational goal.

This year’s competition launches on 7 March, when the first round of Celebrity Team Captains will be announced, so the latest star-studded line-up is still hush hush as we type. But we have it on good authority that many of the 50-plus Celebrity Team Captains who have joined the fun at previous events will be coming back for more this summer, alongside some new faces.

Former Team Captains have included everyone from Jonnie Peacock, Adam Hills, Menna and Jen, and Sophie Christiansen to David Weir, JJ Chalmers, Billy Monger and Kadeena Cox, so get ready for some super-selfies with your sporting and screen Superheroes!

“Our past winners have ranged from two to 82 and have come from all walks of life. What they and their families all shared was a strong Superhero spirit that saw them face this and many of life’s challenges with great passion and positivity. Once again we’re looking for entrants with the same super spirit. All you need to do is share your story and tell us about your own unique superpower for a chance to win a place. All winners are welcome to bring a ‘Sidekick’ to guide, push or simply accompany them on the course if they wish and all types of ‘gadgets and gismos’ are welcome, from day chairs, handcycles, buggies and trikes to tandems, race runners, blades and adaptive bikes. These events really are for everyone.” – Sophia Warner, founder of Superhero Series.

Alongside the Celebrity Challenge, there are many tri missions available to enter throughout the day. Superheroes can choose to fly solo, team up for a relay stage each or enter the ‘Sidekick Tris’ where a friend or loved one can tow, push and pull their Superhero around the entire tri course.
