LimbPower are delighted to launch an exciting adventure walking the length of the iconic Hadrian’s Wall in May 2013.  This trek will have a reasonably relaxed pace, beginning at Bowness-on-Solway and finishing six days later at Wallsend, a total distance of 84 miles.  Accommodation will be in tents specially designed for the Australian Outback, so perfectly suited whatever the English Spring can throw at them!  All kit and camping equipment will be carried ahead and set up for the group each day, so all they will need to do at the end of each day’s walk is to relax and enjoy the camaraderie around the campfire.  Even the meals are all provided, so there really is nothing to worry about

The trek will be led by Mark O’Leary, LimbPower’s walking ambassador and an above-knee amputee.  Mark has a great deal of walking experience, including trekking up Kilimanjaro. “This is going to be a great walk in a really beautiful location,” says Mark.  “I am really looking forward to exploring the route, having fun and importantly raising funds for LimbPower and their great work”.

Kiera Roche, LimbPower Chairman says: “This is going to be a fabulous week of walking and we hope to see lots of amputees joining the group.  For some this may be a pleasant walk, and for others this will represent a real personal challenge, but for all there will be lots of laughter and a great sense of achievement at the end.”

The walk is open to all, subject to a registration fee of just £25 and a further fundraising target.  Anyone who is interested in joining the group should contact
