Peacock Ruffles Some Feathers

Jonnie Peacock lay down the gauntlet last night by securing his spot in the T44 100m final in the fastest qualifying time. Jonnie ran a strong race in a time of 11.08 seconds ahead of Jerome Singleton.

Oscar Pistorius ran in the second heat and qualified in the second fastest time of 11.18 ahead of Blake Leeper and Alan Oliviera who beat Pistorius in the 200m. Oliviera qualified for the final as the fastest loser.

The final takes place tonight at 21.24 and is the most anticipated race of the Paralympic Games.

 

Emotional Frederiksen Takes Gold

Heather Frederiksen turned in an emphatic performance to retain her Paralympic S8 100m Backstroke title on day six of the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
