You may recall that earlier this year we ran a feature on a very talented photographer, Rei Bennett, who was undertaking a unique project called ‘Beauty Through Damage’.
Beauty Through Damage has grown rapidly since the beginning of this year and it is now officially a photographic makeover service for those suffering with self-esteem issues as a result of sudden or life-long disability or illness. The shoots that Rei undertakes consist of a full pampering session with professional hair and make up artists, along with a photo therapy session with Rei and 10 digital photos of your choice to keep. Rei wants to show you how your journey, your scars, and supposed imperfections are all proof of your strength and beauty.
Rei has teamed up with PosAbility to offer one lucky reader the chance to win a full photo shoot including the pampering session and 10 digital photos! The photo shoot will take place at Rei Bennett Photography’s Studio in Derby city centre and will take approximately 3-4 hours. In addition to this, 10 lucky runners up will also win a free photo shoot (not including hair, make-up or digital images).
Each shoot normally costs £280 and all profit goes towards raising awareness for the support of individuality, strength and a positive image of disability and to strive towards creating a world where beauty is not reliant on becoming perfect. The 10 runner up prizes consist of a photo shoot with Rei Bennett but exclude the pampering session with professional hair and make-up artists and do not include any photos to take away. The winners must attend Rei Bennett’s Photography Studio at Unit 17 Derwent Business Centre, Clarke Street, Derby, DE1 2BU for the photo shoots. The transport costs are the responsibility of the winner and the prize cannot be transferred nor can any cash alternative be offered.
