With today’s finals a few hours away, we’ve taken a run down of this morning’s events at the first day of the IPC Swimming World Championships at Tollcross International Swimming Centre in Glasgow.
This morning’s heats saw Team GB off to a great start with Scott Quinn gaining 1st place in the Men’s 100m Breaststroke SB14, the Men’s 50m backstroke also saw Brit Andy Mullen come out top, with Ellie Simmonds also taking top in the Women’s 400m Freestyle s6.
One day into the Championships and we’ve already seen a world record with Aussie Ellie Cole beating the previous record of 1:09:30 held by Canadian Stephanie Dixon in Beijing 2008 in the second heat of the Women’s 100m backstroke S9.
You can see a full list of the results here on the IPC Swimming website.
