The Motability Big Event just got bigger. They have introduced a series of speaker sessions that visitors can attend, they will cover subjects including an introduction to wheelchair accessible vehicles (WAVs), how adaptations can improve your driving experience and everything you need to know about the Motability Scheme and what it offers you.

The talks will take place throughout the duration of The Big Event – Friday 6 and Saturday 7 July at the NEC Birmingham. It is free to attend and with free parking for all visitors, The Big Event is the Motability Scheme’s flagship event of the summer, hosting the UK’s biggest display of vehicles for disabled people. As well as the new series of talks, guests can also test drive a range of vehicles, including a wide selection fitted with popular driving adaptations, and peruse a selection of WAVs, adaptations, scooters and powered wheelchairs.

Between 10am and 3.30pm across both event days, visitors can attend hourly speaker sessions, each approximately 20 minutes long. The line-up for the sessions is:

13.00   Could adaptations improve your driving experience forever? by Graham Farrant – WAV and Adaptations Account Manager, Motability Operations Ltd

14.00: Parking pains and refuelling woes by Graham Footer, CEO, DMUK

 15.00:  Experiences of disabled users of England’s motorways and major ‘A’ roads – latest research shared by Catherine Folca – Stakeholder Manager, Transport Focus

An event for the whole family to enjoy, The Big Event also offers plenty of free activities to entertain the younger guests including balloon modelling, a bouncy castle, face painting and the chance to take a selfie with the Motability Scheme mascot, Billy the Bear. The event is open 9am-4pm on both days and on arrival all visitors will be treated to a token for a free cup of tea or coffee.
