DS Active has launched a health app for people with Down’s syndrome.

The Health Swap app has been created with the aim of promoting healthy living options and tackling the statistic that 70% of people with Down’s syndrome are overweight or obese.

The new health app is free to download and easy to use. It allows you to plan meals for the week and once you have done that the app will create a handy shopping list for you. You will find healthy recipe ideas and there are tips on how to ‘eat the rainbow’ that colour codes vegetables.

The app awards badges for healthy choices and tracks daily activity so you can keep a track of how much exercise you are doing. Using the app will also help improve digital skills and capabilities.

It has already achieved more than 500 downloads and is getting great feedback on social media from the Down’s syndrome community and beyond.

You can download the health app for free from the App Store or on Google Play.
