The tragic news that Will Bayley can no longer compete in BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing was a tough blow for his fans last week and it has sent PosAbility HQ into a state of mourning.

Following a knee injury that Will Bayley sustained during a rehearsal for the previous week’s show (week 6) which saw him watching from the sidelines, Will has sadly not recovered and it was announced last week that he would no longer be able to take part in the show.

Will commented: “I’m gutted my Strictly journey has had to come to an end. I’ve loved being part of the show, and am so grateful for the phenomenal support we have received. I want to say a special thank you to Janette for believing in me and giving me the confidence to believe in myself. The things we achieved, from our Couple’s Choice dance through to the lifts in our Salsa, will stay with me forever. I’ve had the time of my life.”

He may not be winning Strictly but he certainly won over the hearts of the nation with his energetic personality, contagious enthusiasm and beautiful dancing. He has left his mark on Strictly and his last performed dance, the Couples Choice in week five, will go down in Strictly history as one of the most moving and emotional performances to date, bringing the judges to tears and leaving them speechless (watch below).

He will be missed by Strictly fans and we wish him a speedy recovery so we can cheer him on to glory at the Tokyo Paralympics in 2020!
