It was also GB’s Jessica Applegate who came up top in the 200m Individual Medley SM14, setting a new championship record in the process.

Ellie Simmonds has come back from her earlier disappointment this week and saw success in the Women’s 200m Individual Medley SM6, whilst 18-year-old Tully Kearney finished brilliantly in the 100m Butterfly S9. A great start this morning for GB.

New Zealand’s Mary Fisher has had a fantastic games so far and is set for even more medals after coming up top in the Women’s 50m Freestyle S11 heats this morning.

Today’s World Record came from Russian Emeliantsev, his second of the Championships! The 21-year-old set a new record in the Men’s 200m Individual Medley SM14.
