This unusually sunny day in Glasgow has seen yet more World Records from this morning’s heats here at the Tollcross pool.
Russian Emeliantsev beat the World Record in the Men’s 200m Freestyle S14 heats, a race which saw yet more success for Australia as Daniel Fox took position in the first heat of the race. The second Record also came from Russia, with Valeriia Shabalina shaving fractions of a second off her previous record in the Women’s 200m Freestyle S14.
13 year old Australian Tiffany Thomas-Kane also continued from her massive success this week coming out top in the Women’s 50m Butterfly S6 heats after not only smashing a World Record yesterday, but pushing favourites Charlotte Henshaw and Ellie Simmonds into Silver and Bronze during the women’s 100m breaststroke SB6 last night.
GB’s Oliver Hynd however saw success today, qualifying top in the Men’s 200m Ind/Med SM8.
The US team also saw huge success today with four swimmers coming out top in the heats.
