Lynch Healthcare have launched a competition for kids to design a tailored sling. The winning entry will be handcrafted by the David Lynch Tailored Slings and donated to a person nominated by the winner.
The competition is the idea of new marketing executive Hazel Bentley who hopes to make a difference to the life of a child with a disability or mobility problem with a custom-made sling.
Hazel said: “It’s something that hasn’t been done in the industry before and because we can make slings here on site I thought it would be great to get the kids involved in a fun way.”
Children from local schools and nurseries, as well as other organisations and charities in and around the Sunderland area have already been asked to take part but Hazel now wants to open the competition up to kids around the country.
Kids can print off a blank sling template, colour it in using no more than three colours and then return it to Lynch Healthcare to enter. Entrants can nominate an individual who requires a sling or a school or nursery that would benefit. A free assessment will be provided to the winner to ensure the best sling style and fit is provided. The closing date for entries is 31st July 2015.
