It was congratulations all round after Liverpool resident Jason Provost completed a sponsored walk from Seacombe to Thurstaston, raising over £1000 in the process.

Jason, who is a tenant at Supported Living North West, tackled the ten mile troop along the Wirral Coastal Walk head on, determined to make it all the way.

Jason received fantastic support from his local community in Liverpool to fundraise for Stand Up To Cancer, raising over £500 from friends, neighbours and members of his local snooker club.

After such great fundraising efforts, Jason was invited to meet the top team at Embrace, the parent company of Supported Living North West. After presenting to Embrace’s Chief Executive, Trish Lee, and Chief Financial Officer, David Manson, the team were so impressed about Jason’s charity work that Embrace agreed to match his £500 funding, bringing his total to a target smashing £1000.

Service Manager for Merseyside, Lynn Lavelle, commented: “Jaons’s achievement is tremendous – he has demonstrate real initiative and determination in completing the sponsored walk for Stand Up To Cancer.

“Jason is a member of our Tenant’s forum and his fellow tenants and members of the local community were well and truly behind Jason every step of the way, and hopefully he will have inspired his peers to take action to support the charities that are close to their hearts.”

Supported Living North West service user, Jason Provost, commented: “The sponsored walk was a challenge but I was really happy with the amount of money I raised for such a great cause.”

Supported Living North West is part of Embrace and offers supported living services for adults with learning disabilities, mental health problems, complex needs, challenging behaviour and physical disabilities.
