Specialist tour operator, Accessible Travel, launches an extended programme of barrier free coach holiday for 2017
Following the success of their 2016 trip to Amsterdam, Accessible Travel, the specialist tour operator for disabled travellers, is pleased to announce the launch of an extended programme of accessible coach holidays for 2017 including trips to Germany’s Rhineland, Austria and the Scottish Highlands.
These small group tours, specifically designed for less mobile travellers and their partners, combine comfortable transport, on specially equipped coaches, accessible hotel accommodation and include day trips and excursions that everyone can enjoy. For people looking for a holiday without flying these trips are ideal.
To ensure all passengers can travel in comfort Accessible Travel have partnered with Jumbulance whose luxury coaches are specially designed to be fully accessible and take both manual and electric wheelchairs/scooters. A platform lift provides easy access, and there’s a disabled toilet, ample storage space for equipment and wheelchairs, comfortable reclining seats and a small kitchen for complimentary hot drinks. With local joining points throughout the UK and fully escorted by Accessible Travel’s experienced drivers and tour managers.
All accommodation is fully accessible with the majority having level entry showers, grab rails and shower seats. Rooms will be matched to guests specific requirements and guaranteed. Equipment can also be hired and to make our tours even better value for money they are on a half board basis, plus visits to the local destinations are included in the price, with the option for guest to add optional excursions if they wish.
The first holiday departs for the Rhineland in April, with a second longer 12-day trip in June and a third holiday to Scotland in September.
Ali Parker, General Manager of Accessible Travel, says:
“We received such fantastic feedback from our accessible coach trip in 2016 that we knew we had to offer this type of holiday again. We wanted our 2017 programme to offer even more choice and knowing our customers love trips along the Rhine and to Scotland, so it seemed natural to add these locations.
Our customers are looking for something different. A holiday that offers a real alternative to flying, is extremely good value and completely barrier-free. We have used all our experience in operating accessible holidays to create these coach tours and are very excited to be working once again with Jumbulance, who are specialists in providing barrier-free transport.
The population is ageing, and we’re finding increasingly that our customers and equally their partners want support when travelling abroad. They want help not just with transport but also in finding a resort that they can easily get around and accommodation that suits their needs. We have used our 19-years of experience to create these coach trips. We are sure they will offer not just an accessible holiday, but being a small group a holiday where our customers can share experiences about mobility and form lasting friendships for future support.
We look forward to welcoming both our previous clients and new customers onboard.”
