Super men and wonder women, including the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Coun Joanne Dodds, will be jumping off the 10 storey Margaret McMillan Tower in Bradford to raise money for the Lord Mayor’s Appeal.

Over 50 dare devils have signed up to go over the top at the Super Heroes Abseil taking place on Saturday 16 April and many of these have agreed to take part dressed as their favourite superhero.

These brave men, women and children are expected to raise over £4,500 for the Bradford Hospitals Children’s Charity and the Lord Mayor’s own ‘Spread a Smile’ Appeal.

There will be prizes for the best dressed super hero and also the super hero raising the most money.

The Lord Mayor of Bradford Council, Joanne Dodds, said:

“I am one of those people who believes that if I am asking people to do something for me then I should at least have a go myself. I have to say I don’t like heights, so this is going to be a real challenge for me. All those who have signed up are all super heroes in my eyes.”
